[My Kids] saw the ‘play loud’ tagline and took the challenge.

play stations for all ages

Our educators carefully curate the Montessori-style play centers to appeal to children of a wide range of age and development. Open-ended toys encourage child-led, creative, and imaginative play. A comfortable area with softer toys is sectioned off for infants and nursing parents.

Our playspace policies

  • The PlayArts PlaySpace is designed for infants up through age six, however, we offer classes and other services for kids up to age 12. We pride ourselves in providing a space that appeals to a wide range of developmental stages and do not exclude children based on age, however, parents of older children should understand that children above the age of six are beyond the developmental stages for which the play structures were designed and should keep in mind the safety and well being of younger children when allowing older children to play.

  • You are responsible for your child at all times. Front desk associates are available to check in guests, maintain the space and answer client questions, but are not responsible for children's behavior or safety. Keep an eye on your child and be aware if they need a break or help navigating a challenge. Parents of toddlers attending “drop-off” classes (where parents are not required to be in the classroom with their child) must remain on premises.

  • We strive to maintain cleanliness and limit outside contaminants entering our space. Please place your shoes on the shelves located inside each entrance. Socks are optional in the building, and it is often best for children to remove socks. We have shoe coverings available for those unable to remove their shoes and non-slip socks available for purchase upon request.

  • Please do not bring your child to PlayArts if they are sick, contagious or showing other symptoms of illness. If you are home sick from school, please do not come in. And if your child is recovering from a virus, remember that standard procedure calls for a 24 hours FEVER FREE period, without the aid of medication, once the fever breaks.

  • While we are open weekends for play, we occasionally need to adjust our schedule due to holidays, inclement weather, unexpected circumstances or special events. Always check our website to verify we are open before visiting. We will do our best to communicate any schedule changes promptly to our clients via the website, email lists, and social media.

  • Please bring strollers to the rear entrance on Lee Street. We have a limited amount of stroller parking available inside the building in the rear foyer and hallway. We encourage you to fold up your stroller or lock it up outside on our bike racks when possible. When entering from rear entrance, please be sure to check-in at the front desk before playing.

  • Our goal is to accommodate the needs of everyone who would like to visit us. The rear entrance on Lee Street is wheelchair accessible and our bathrooms, play area and classrooms are all ADA compliant. We regret some areas or play structures in the building may not be accessible to every guest. Feel free to contact us in advance of your visit if you have questions or if you’d like our staff to be aware of any specific needs.

  • We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. If you believe you may have lost something in our space, please contact us and add your information to our Lost and Found log. Unclaimed Lost and Found items left in our space are periodically donated.

  • The number of tickets purchased by one individual/family is limited to no more than 10. If you would like to purchase Playspace tickets for a group of 11 or more, see our private rental options or contact our staff at info@playartsphilly.com.

  • All parents and guardians will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival. You will receive a link to the waiver in your confirmation email when booking. You can also review the PlayArts liability waiver, COVID waiver, and medical release here. You may use this link to complete the waiver before arrival as well.
