SAM

Sam (she/her) earned her BFA in Acting from Syracuse University and spent several years in New York City exploring narrative and creative expression as a performer, visual artist and educator before recently moving to Philadelphia.

Sam’s work is inspired by her love of guiding people in their creative journeys and passion for making creativity and education accessible. Most recently, Sam directed and taught in the after-school program and summer camp at a school in Queens, NY for over three years. This built on more than eight years of experience working with children through art lessons, nannying and education internships. She believes curiosity and play are at the heart of learning and enjoys fostering a safe space where students can express and discover their voice through art.

Outside of teaching, Sam enjoys reading, collecting vintage finds, exploring Philly’s arts scene, and experimenting with her own creative projects. She’s delighted to be part of the PlayArts team, where she can help students explore, create, and grow.
