Franceline Mathieu
Franceline is from Quebec, Canada, and has traveled extensively around the world. She worked internationally as an English elementary teacher and a French teacher at the bachelor’s level before recently moving to Philadelphia with her husband. She holds a college diploma in Arts and Letters, Language Profile, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Modern Languages. Beyond her teaching experience, she has worked in summer camps and day care centers. She loves working with children and youth because she thinks they are genuine, creative, and lively.
Painting and theater have always been her passions. Her favorite medium is watercolor, which she loves for its delicate, soft, and flowy qualities. Recently, she has started painting handcrafted cards, a new way to share her love for painting. She was also part of an amateur theater troupe in Quebec and took acting classes in Philadelphia and Morocco. Through these experiences, she learned to embody characters, gained experience in scenic design, and helped create costumes and sets. She feels happy, fulfilled, and privileged to have made a shift in her career toward what she loves most. Her passion for teaching and art now comes together beautifully.
