fatima

Fatima was born in Washington, D.C. and attended Ithaca College where she received her Bachelor’s of Art and a minor in Communication Management and Design. Since then, she has spent most of her time investing into the Arts program back at her old middle school and high school, hoping to give the current students more than she had been offered. There she helped add more advanced art courses, including AP Art and Design, as well as ventured into other interests by coaching softball and wrestling.

Wanting a change of scenery, Fatima recently moved to Philadelphia hoping to continue her passion for fostering young creatives as well as polishing up her own practice. She spent much of her formative years intrigued by STEM fields such as physics and chemistry, as well as philosophy and ancient literature. Throughout her studies, her curiosity in understanding the functions and laws of the world, and humankind, prevailed, ultimately leading to her current practice of creating visual art. In her own work, Fatima focuses on breaking down subliminal feelings using a variety of mediums from oil paints to graphite, favoring abstraction and surrealism as her primary style.
