June 11-15 | Art Lab: Materials, Media & Methods

Campers will explore different processes of art-making as they create two-dimensional and three-dimensional works. As they delve into different media including paints, colored pencils, oil pastels, clay, and fibers and cloth, they will learn about and discover many different ways to create their own artwork!

June 18-22 | Music Lab: Pop Song Symphony

Ever used a Boomwhacker? How about a metallophone? In this camp students get to explore all sorts of creative and exciting musical instruments to play and compose melodies! With these fun and easily accessible tools, students will learn skills such as reading simple music notation, ensemble playing, and composition. Together, students will perform familiar folk and pop songs and have a blast!

June 25-29 | Music Lab: World Music Drum Circle

Playing in a drum circle is a great way for students to communicate through music, help develop listening skills, and understand the value of cooperative teamwork. In this music lab, students will explore rhythms and folk songs that come from West Africa and the Caribbean, and learn tolerance through comparing musical cultures.

July 9-13 | Theater Lab: Once Upon Every Time

Calling all princes and princesses, heroes and villains! Have you always wanted to choose your own adventure? Ever wonder what trouble Rapunzel and the 3 little pigs would cause? Do you think Pinocchio and Captain Hook would make great friends? Then “Once Upon Every Time” is the camp for you! Create a story that’s never been told before, with characters you know and love. We’ll write our script, create our costumes and show our stuff with a performance on Friday!

July 16-20 | Art Lab: Creating Campsites

Create a real life campsite-- indoors-- with installation artist, Janell Olah. Kids will design their own private space by creating personal tents, pillows, and interior comforts, while working collaboratively to transform our camp space into a magical outdoor environment. Activities include printmaking, sewing, construction, and lots of teamwork. A vivid imagination is encouraged!

July 23-27 | Art Lab: Soft Sculpture

Create individual and collaborative sculptures with artist, Janell Olah. Kids will learn about the planning and design that moves an idea from two-dimensions to three-dimensions. They will make personal projects both on an intimate scale, as well as participating in large-scale collaboration. Activities include printmaking, sewing, construction, and making inflatables. Calling young makers that are ready to play!
